Incredible scene from The Wire were D’Angelo uses chess as an analogy for the drug trade. It’s prophetic of the later fortunes of Wallace, D’Angelo and Bodie also as “pawns” in the game. It’s probably one of the greatest t.v. scenes I’ve ever seen, masterfully written and thought out… it’s message spans the entire show but specifically till Bodie’s eventual death as “a smart ass pawn” in season 4.
